CSM: Tell us more about yourself. Readers love learning new and interesting things about an author, and this would give you a chance to make them feel close.

AL: Well like any good author I love reading, but other things about meI enjoy time with my family. Im a big family buff. I feel very fortunate in my life to have such wonderful parents, siblings, a great husband and kids. Now, Im not saying that there arent flare ups (like the one my brother and sister are in now), but I look forward to our get togethers and those times when my mom, sister and I play Phase 10 while the men lounge in the other room. Hubby says we sound like cackling hens and it doesnt stop until game over.

Also, anyone who has read my bio or other interviews for me knows Im a huge college football fan. I love my Missouri Tigers and will have season tickets this year. Hubby and I managed to raise a tiger fan in my 10 year old son who has lived his first seven years in Nebraska, Husker country, thats no easy feat. LOL! We remained loyal to the black and gold.

CSM: If you have 2 hours free time tonight, what would you rather do? Why?

AL: Im forgetting what those are like. Two free hours.Honestly, I try to get a bit of reading a writing done. If its during the day I either ride my bike, or I watch a chick flick that hubby doesnt like to watch without a comment here or there thrown in. Its funny thoughhe loves English romantic comedies. CSM: What kind of books do you love to read? Why?

AL: Anything romance. Paranormal, historical, contemporary. I cant help myself. I started reading historical romances at the age of thirteen and Ive been hooked ever since.

CSM: What type of music do you relax to?

AL: All kinds, but rock mainly, in my car driving home from my day job. Its my moment to bask and relax before I have to worry about picking up kids, dinner, making sure the oldest does his chores, laundry, giving the toddler a bath

CSM: Besides being a total book junkie Im also a music junkie. When Im writing I have a sound track playing either in my mind or in my cd player. Whats your sound track? What type of music is on it?

AL: It depends on the book. Right now for the forth book in my Eternal series, Eternal Salvation, I listen to Evanescence a lot. Confession the second book in the Frisky Business series has been more upbeat dance-pop type songs. I even have some stories that are a call for the classical. Music can be a great inspiration.

CSM: What is your favorite stress reliever?

AL: A good book and a nice hot bubble bath. I know it sounds cliché but I love it when I want to escape for a while.

CSM: What is your favorite food?

AL: Any kind of potatofried, mashed, baked, twice baked. Im a starch girl.

CSM: Describe yourself in one word?

AL: Loyal

CSM: Whats your biggest regret in life?

AL: That I didnt take that trip to Europe when I was 18. I had the opportunity to backpack across Europe with a friend of mine from Switzerland. I had just started dating James (hubby) and I had a fear of big cities and traveling by myself. It was scary when I got my schedule. Depart from St. Louis, switch plans in NYC, arrive in Geneva and take a train to Melanies village. For a small town girl at the time it was a lot and the world became too big.

CSM: What is the adventurous thing youve ever done?

AL: Ive been on many adventures across America, but Id have to say the one Im currently on, motherhood. Ive never experienced such excitement and fear as with my own children. They put me on a roller coaster ride of emotion. One moment were coasting along on smooth tracks, no hills, or sudden drops for awhile. Suddenly were climbing, then roaring down the fast track laughing and screaming in delight and theres been a couple instances where the track dropped out and I couldnt see how far down it would go, but the fear in my gut threatened to choke me. I know it sounds morbid, but again, Im all about my family.

CSM: How would readers find out more about you?

CSM: When did you write your first book?

AL: When I was in the 8th grade. It was very dramatic with me becoming the new lead guitarist for Skid Row and Sebastian Bach falling madly in love with me. It was a couple hundred pages, HAND WRITTEN, front and back. LOL! Oh, wait, do you mean my first published? That would be Eternal Embrace, about seven years ago, which is out now as a new release with Linden Bay Romance. This was previously published with another publisher.

CSM: How long did it take you to write it?

AL: It took me about six to eight months to write it.

CSM: Did you encounter any obstacles in writing?

AL: Not obstacles so much as new characters coming in and it becoming a series. When I started Eternal Embrace I had intended for it to be a stand alone. Jacques suddenly appeared. It worked great, but I hadnt realized he was going to do that and then he and Kelly started making eyes at each other andyou have the rest.

CSM: What do you think about editing?

AL: Its fine. Its not my favorite part, but going back through you can catch where you can make things better. Thats the fun part.

CSM: Where and when do you write?

AL: I either write during lunch break at work, or at home at my kitchen table in the evenings after the kids are tucked into bed and hubbys watching T.V.

CSM: Maybe you can give us an example with one of your books?

AL: Heres a short excerpt from Eternal Embrace:

Cassie woke with a satisfied smile, feeling deliciously sore, and sat up in the bed at the sound of something scraping across the stone floor. What are you doing, she asked Dimitri, a shy smile flittering across her face, as memories of what they had shared came to play in her mind.

Dimitri gazed at her, smiling back at her over the top of an easel and canvas before him. There was a light in his eyes as he sat in a swivel chair, paints at his side. I was inspired, he announced.

By me? Cassie asked a little bewildered.

I was hoping not to wake you. You dont mind, do you?I dont know.

Please, agapi mou, it pleases me very much. His dark eyes seemed to wrap her in their embrace, holding her as if they would never let her go. She finally nodded, not trusting herself to speak. A shiver coursed up her spine at the sound; feeling as if the soft bristles glided along her bare skin.

Cassie didnt move, couldnt move. Her eyes never left him. She was transfixed by every detail about him, enthralled with the way his midnight-black hair fell straight onto his shoulders as if the strands caressed him, the dark locks flowing free. His handsome face was set in concentration as he gazed upon her, taking in her features, that dark look capturing every secret of her body.

His body was bare, and she inspected each ripple of his flesh in return, every hard peak her gaze could touch. Her tongue darted out over her suddenly dry lips, moistening them. AL: If you want to write a specific book I would suggest reading those types of books. Theres always helpful s how you do it books out there, but if you want to get your hands dirty, read a bunch of authors and see how they do it then find your style before going to the s how you do it books.

CSM: What is your must-have book for writing?

AL: Thats a good question, because I dont have one.

CSM: What is your advice for aspiring writers?

AL: Get into a good critique group. Youll want to keep the group small. Give good and helpful criticism and make sure to support each other.

CSM: What genre(s) do you write?

AL: Paranormal, contemporary, historical, fantasy and sci-fi.

CSM: Among that youve written which is your favorite book and why?

AL: Whichever one Im working on at the time. I fall in love all over again and usually find new men that need their stories told.

CSM: Where do you get your ideas? Do you jot them down in a notebook in case you forget?

AL: I get ideas from music, riding in my car or on my bicycle and watching the land go by. Its those times I let my mind wander. I always say Im going to carry a little notebook with me for when an idea hits and I never do.

CSM: Which of your books feature your family/friends, etc? What characters are modeled after them? Why?

AL: I put little bits here and there of myself, family and friends into my characters. Not one character is completely modeled after any of them. I think adding certain character traits of others endears that character more to not only me but the reader, making them more real. Like Devon, in Bait and Switch. He abhors mustard as does my beloved husband. Hubby wont let me kiss him when Ive eaten anything with mustard. He doesnt even like to touch the container it comes in. I know there are those out there that relate to the little stuff, or know someone just like Devon, or hubby. Of course, my man has never done what Devon did either after Anna ate all that yucky yellow stuff. ;-)

CSM: Which of your heroes/heroines is most similar to you?

AL: Probably Mindy in Confession which isnt out yet. If youve read Bait and Switch youve met her. Now, Im not that extreme. Ive worked on some of those character defects , reining them in a little bit. What can I saym a Leo born in the year of the Dragon. Its like I got a double dose of one of the most loudest, and its all about me signs out there. Ive found that I am prone to certain traits and I make sure I dont go overboard one way all the time.

CSM: Who is your strongest/sexiest/most lovable/hottest hero/heroine? Why?

AL: For hero, previously released and coming soon with Linden Bay Romance is Damian of Eternal Surrender. Hes yummy gorgeous, tall as all get out, cruel yet learning to be gentle. The heart of a man struggling against being the beast that calls him. *sigh*

For heroine, Id have to say Alyssa, his leading lady. Shes a fighter who is ready to stake any vampire that gets in her way, including Damian. Shes had a terrible time of it the last several years and is a survivor, but compared to Damian shes a petite thing he wants to pick up and put in his pocket. LOL!

But I have to mention, Alynn and Christian in Eternal Salvation might give them a run for their money, plus be ready to meet the next hot vampire on the block. I think readers will want his story after meeting him.

CSM: Have you ever wanted to write your book in one direction but your characters wanted to go in another direction. What did you do in such a situation?

AL: YES! Christian and Alynn, those twoI went around and around with them. I couldnt figure out what they were trying to tell me, but everything I was writing wasnt going right at all. Finally, on take four of writing and throwing it out and starting again we finally found it. I figured out what they were wanting and its all falling into place.

CSM: Tell us more about your current release by Linen Bay Romance, Eternal Embrace.

AL: Heres a blurb from Eternal Embrace. Dimitri is my lonely, tortured vampire.

The freeschool weekender on housing, squatting and gentrification has been and gone. It was a great success and it has left a beautiful building just waiting for another project to begin. So we call on all those interested in starting up a space to come and get involved
On Sunday 21st June, as an ending to the freeschool event a discussion was had on what should happen to the building. People expressed an interest incontinuing occupying in order to create a space that complemented the pre-existing projects in East London. With LARC, rampART, freedom, ASS and Belgrade Road all within close proximity we felt a giant free shop would be a nice idea. The building suits it with huge shop windows. Within such close proximity to the centre of finance a daytime space that promotes community without consumerism seems like a pleasant idea. A strong focus could be on attracting a crowd that wouldnt generally go into squats and social centres by possibly making a space drug free (including alcohol and smoke) and having more family friendly activities. A free bicycle workshop will bring in peddlers by off the street and into the space (or the yard at least.) Regular workshops, infonights, cafes and a food coop were amongst other things discussed.
None of this is set in stone. You can be a part of shaping this project. Come lend a hand, help us occupy and attend the next meeting on TUESDAY 30TH JUNE AT 7PM to discuss what will happen..

Jessica posed for pictures before the performance and was asked by some if she needed boyfriend Tony Romo, a participant in Tiger Tourney, to win a Superbowl before she married him. Jessica responded with, "He'll win. Tony is playing with Tiger tomorrow. That's all I'm thinking about." Wasn't that nice question evasion technique. You know papa Simpson isn't let her marry Tony until he brings home the Superbowl trophy.

Jessica's latest project is a reality show for VH1 called The Price of Beauty, which follows her around the world as she finds out what people find beautiful. Are we trying to get some beauty advice?

The Wrestler

Enough has been written already about Mickey Rourkes real-life parallels with his fictional character in The Wrestler. Yes, it makes the story seem even realer, and is perhaps what attracted Rourke to the project. (Or perhaps not perhaps, instead, it is what attracted Darren Aronofsky to the actor.) But to focus on such surface similarities seems like an undermining of his work here. Rourke may not be as out-of-his-comfort-zone as Sean Penn in Milk, the only other Oscar-worthy lead performance this year, but that is merely a testament to his fundamental understanding of his character: Randy is an understated guy with big scars, both literally and figuratively. Hes been wrestling for years now reduced to borderline tribute shows in front of dwindling crowds, scrounging up barely enough cash to buy the variety of drugs and steroids he needs to maintain his weight. He lives in a trailer park and gets locked out for not being able to keep up rent. He works part-time at a grocery store and visits strip clubs regularly, because its the only place where he seemingly has any meaningful connections with another human being namely the dancer Cassidy (played by Marisa Tomei), who is similarly a bit older than most peers in her yet doesnt really know any other way to live.The Wrestler draws immediate comparison to the classics of working class cinema, including Rocky and On the Waterfront. Sylvester Stallone returned to his iconic character two years to bring resolution to the life of Rocky Balboa, the Philly boxer who got back in the ring for one final match . It was a good film and touched on similar themes a nice guy stuck in a mean world, an estranged child and ultimately both films present us with the dilemma these men find themselves in: too old to continue doing what they know best, and too old to learn how to do anything else.Whereas Rocky Balboa was a trip down memory lane, it was hardly as bleak or frank as The Wrestler, which is a vastly superior film. Darren Aronofsky has established himself with this picture as one of the most important of modern American filmmakers; to acknowledge that this work is from the same dude who directed The Fountain is astonishing, because they couldnt be farther apart on a sylistic level. The Wrestler is grainy, low-key and rough. It isnt polished, fantastical or elaborate. And that suits the material perfectly. The fact that Aronofsky was willing to almost entirely reinvent his approach for the benefit of the story is more than admirable. He deserves a nomination.Tomei is wonderful in her supporting role, fleshing out her character (again, both literally and figuratively) with greater competence than most actresses would probably be able to manage, because its a fairly obvious role the stripper with a heart of gold who is the object of desire for the gruff guy with a tortured soul. Yet she manages to strike a balance in the film as one of two female roles, the other belonging to Evan Rachel Wood as Randys emotionally severed daughter.The Wrestler is impressive for all its smaller parts as well as the larger ones. When Randy goes to visit his daughter, the reaction is fleeting; its not overly dramatic and revelatory, like most films of this nature often create such scenes to be. We can tell by her reaction that its not the first time Randy has attempted to reconcile with her, as she seems unfazed by his appearance on her doorstep. It is in this fashion that the film jumps through all the mandatory hoops of its genre (think, of all things, The Royal Tenenbaums), yet still manages to seem fresh and realistic.And then theres Rourke. As aforementioned, he deserves the Oscar nom hes likely to receive. And he should probably win. This is one of the best performances of the decade, perhaps even of all time, if we really want to get down to it. Its the best work of his career, at once the most fully developed of his characters and the most imperfect. Randy isnt airbrushed to make him seem more appealing to the audience; Aronofsky and Rourke exploit his faults and present him as a normal boyfriend, tempted by vices and haunted by his past. Yet we recognize that the drugs, the empty fuck and the generally self-destructive behavior Randy partakes in is rooted in the same emotional enguish that the actor himself seems to carry with him; Aronofsky spotted this quality in Rourke, and he fought the producers for Rourke over their first choice (Nicolas Cage), and his dedication paid off youll be hard-pressed to find a more convincing, moving or memorable lead performance this year.Ultimately, The Wrestler is one of the years very best films a character study that is at once timeless and powerful. And its helmed by a director who has managed to bounce back from an aesthetically pleasing but shallow art-house film to produce one of the great works of American cinema in the 21st century.

After days of speculation about his role in the final hours and death of Michael Jackson, the superstars personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, has spoken out through his lawyer.
Ed Chernoff, the doctors Houston-based attorney, tells People his client valiantly tried to save the singers life – and never injected him with Demerol or prescribed OxyContin.
If it turns out that Michael had OxyContin in his stomach, it had nothing to do with Dr. Murray, says Chernoff.
Frantic Efforts
On June 24, he says, his client was asked by Jackson to spend the night at the singers house following Jacksons rehearsal for his new tour at the Staples Center. The next day, when Jackson did not emerge from his bedroom before noon, Murray entered the room and found the singer unconscious – but with a faint pulse.
Dr. Murray began performing CPR for several minutes as he tried to revive him, unsuccessfully, Chernoff tells PEOPLE.
Chernoff says Murray – who met Jackson in 2006 when he treated one of his children in Las Vegas and did not become the singers personal physician until May – tried to call 911, but because of security arrangements at the house, was unable to get a line out. Murray thought of using his cellphone, but realized he didnt know the address of Jacksons house, according to Chernoff. Instead, he screamed for help.
With Michael still on the bed, he put one hand under Michaels back for support and compressing with his other hand. He continued to check the pulse, and the pulse remained, says Chernoff.
A Shot to the Heart
When nobody replied to his urgent cries for help, Murray located a chef in the kitchen. A member of Jacksons security detail finally called for help.
After the ambulance arrived, says Chernoff, Murray spoke to doctors at UCLA, who instructed the paramedics to administer an epinephrine shot directly to Jacksons heart in an attempt to revive him.
Michael continued to have a pulse, says Chernoff, even as he was taken out of the house and put in the ambulance for the trip to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:26 that afternoon.
Chernoff said that Murray consoled the family as they arrived in the hospital that afternoon, and advised them to have an autopsy done before they signed a death certificate. Later that day, Murray, who at that point was emotionally and physically exhausterd, according to Chernoff, spoke to the police for more than three hours.
Then, on the advice of his lawyer, the doctor turned off his cellphone and avoided the press.
According to Chernoff, Murray gave up two cardiac practices, one in Las Vegas and the other in Houston, to attend to Jackson and accompany him to London for his series of summer concerts there.
